About me and my therapy practice
I am a Íø±¬ÃÅ Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor. I have experience of working within the third sector, school-based counselling & also in private practice.
Talking to friends and family can sometimes come with challenges, in counselling you can talk freely and openly without fear of judgement and receive empathy and support that is focused on your own personal experience and growth. Developing a safe, accepting and authentic therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work with clients.
There are times in our life (whatever our age) where our feelings and situation become difficult to manage. Counselling can support us in developing ways to cope and express ourselves in positive ways, provide a greater sense of self-awareness and improve our well-being.
Practice description
I have extensive experience working within bereavement, grief, anticipatory grief, loss, end of life, and palliative care. I also have experience and able to help with many other issues including but not limited to those listed below.
My approach to counselling is person-centred, person-centred counselling to me focuses on developing a trusting relationship by offering genuine empathy and acceptance in a safe and confidential space. I am there not as ‘the expert’ but as a trained professional supporting you with your personal growth, challenges, feelings, and/or thoughts.
Although my main approach is that of person-centred therapy, when relevant to client needs, I am able to include other relevant modes of working.
I currently offer online sessions and local face to face counselling. Initially, I offer a free 30 minute telephone assessment in which we can discuss your needs, what is happening for you & why you are considering counselling. I will explain more around how I work & what you can expect
If we agree to start sessions, I will send you a contract for our work together which will explain the process.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been working as a counsellor for over 10 years and gained my supervision qualification in 2022. I have greatly valued the supervision I have received over the years and want to be able to support others in this rewarding but sometimes challenging work we do. Supporting each other in providing ethically sound and helpful counselling to clients is very important to me. What I hope to provide is a ‘compassionate eye’ to my supervisees practice.
My predominant philosophical underpinnings is that of a person-centered approach, however, I am also influenced by other theories and models, including the 7 eyed model, the cyclical model, as well developmental models of supervision. I believe it is important to consider the role of my own, and my supervises theoretical perspective within the sessions, considering how it impacts both positively or negatively in our understanding of what we are discussing.
As in person centered counselling the quality of the relationship between the supervisor and the supervisee and the offering of core conditions are key. For this reason, my goal is to facilitate mutual trust and openness, and the use of curiosity is a strong aspect of my supervisory style.
I tailor how I work according to individual needs. Supervises will all be individuals and will have different supervision needs based on where they are in their career and lives. My goal, whatever stage or experience a supervisor might be at, is to develop a safe space where we can explore these needs and allow opportunities for growth in practice skills and confidence, always being mindful of self-care along the way.
