Requirements
To be eligible for Íø±¬ÃÅ approval of this progression qualification, the awarding organisation must:  Ìý
- be an organisational member of Íø±¬ÃÅ and subject to the current Íø±¬ÃÅ Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions  Ìý
- have an in-depth qualification offering post-qualifying, professional practitioner training over at least one academic year at Level 5 or aboveÌý
- meet our minimum 120 hours requirement for direct teaching or instruction time â¶Ä¯â€¯Ìý
- require teaching delivery that is a mix of face-to-face (in the same room) and online - only synchronous ‘live’ online teaching can be counted towards the minimum hours of direct teaching or instruction time  Ìý
- meet our minimum 50 hours requirement for supervised practice (exclusive of missed sessions)  Ìý
- require at least two core members of staff at each approved centre who have substantive involvement in admission, assessment, course management and decision making, in addition to teaching
- ensure all centre staff are members of an appropriate professional body with a complaints procedure to which they are subject
- ensure the majority of the centre staff are registered/accredited (at SCoPEd column B) and qualified to the appropriate level to teach on the course.

Qualification approval is awarded to the awarding organisation. We'll also agree a centre approval process with the awarding organisation. â¶Ä¯Ìý
Process
The application process has five key stages: Ìý
- Stage 1: initial discussions between awarding organisation and Íø±¬ÃÅ to establish eligibility and partnership
- Stage 2: application forms completed and assessed against set criteria 
- Stage 3: Íø±¬ÃÅ decision report issued and if successful, terms and conditions agreed 
- Stage 4: approved practitioner qualification launches with eligible centres 
- Stage 5: ongoing relationship confirmed with annual contract review meetingsÌý
The application form is in two parts:  Ìý
- Part A – Eligibility 
- Part B – Qualification delivery criteria and video call â¶Ä¯
You need to pass the eligibility application stage (Part A) first before progressing to Part B. â¶Ä¯Ìý
Part B includes a detailed written application showing how the qualification meets a range of criteria, together with supporting evidence. The criteria cover: â¶Ä¯Ìý â¶Ä¯Ìý
- Admissions
- Teaching and learning 
- Client work
- Supervision
- Student assessment
- Course content - SCoPEd framework competences from column B
- Course completion
- Course evaluation
The video call allows our assessors to meet representatives from the awarding organisation involved in developing the qualification, and to start building a relationship with you. We can also discuss any questions you may have about the criteria or recommendations that we give. â¶Ä¯Ìý
Once we have received your application, we’ll carry out an assessment process and we’ll contact you if we have any further queries or if we need any further information. This process will usually take no longer than six weeks.Ìý
After we’ve completed the assessment, we’ll contact you with the outcome. If your qualification meets our requirements, we’ll seek to finalise an approved qualification contract with you and agree timescales for roll out. Ìý
If your qualification doesn’t meet our requirements, we’ll explain why and work with you to provide support should you wish to meet the requirements in the future. Resubmission timeframes are agreed at the point of deferral but are no longer than three months from the date of deferral.Ìý

Costs
The application and ongoing costs are:  â¶Ä¯â€¯Ìý   Ìý
Initial Application Fee (SCoPEd column B competences) - £750
Yearly – Annual contract review fee - £150
Developmental Changes Fee - £350Ìý
Commitments
Approval is awarded on an ongoing basis. To retain your approval for the full term you must: â¶Ä¯Ìý â¶Ä¯Ìý
- maintain your Íø±¬ÃÅ organisational membership 
- pay the annual approval fee 
- comply with the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions 
- continue to meet all criteria for the approved qualification scheme
- attend annual contract review meetings with us
- inform us of any proposed changes to the qualification, before they're implemented
