What's included
We're looking forward to welcoming practitioners working with children, young people and families (CYP&F) in any setting and at any stage of your counselling journey.
This conference brings together leading voices in child and adolescent mental health to explore the complex social influences shaping the lives of young people today. From the rise of controversial online figures like Andrew Tate to the impact of political rhetoric and algorithm-driven content, practitioners are increasingly called to navigate digital landscapes and cultural tensions in their work. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and practical workshops, delegates will gain insight into how these forces affect identity, wellbeing, and relationships and how to respond with compassion, clarity, and clinical rigour. The event will foreground trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and systemic approaches to working with children, young people, and families across settings.
The aims of the conference are to examine:听
- the psychological impact of social media platforms, algorithms, and influencer culture
 - the rise of polarising figures (e.g. Andrew Tate) and their influence on gender identity, masculinity, and peer dynamics
 - how political discourse and societal narratives affect young people's sense of belonging, safety, and agency
 - strategies for CYPF practitioners to engage critically, compassionately, and therapeutically with these influences in practice

The learning outcomes of the conference are to leave with:
- a more comprehensive understanding of how online and cultural ecosystems influence young people鈥檚 mental health, identity, and relationships
 - tools to support young people navigating harmful or polarising content online
 - insight into how political and societal narratives intersect with trauma, neurodivergence, and marginalisation
 - confidence in applying systemic, relational, and culturally responsive approaches in therapeutic work
 - awareness of safeguarding considerations and ethical dilemmas in digital engagement
