The experiences of LGBTQIA+ (non-heterosexual orientations) clients aged 16-24 of disclosing their sexual orientation to a therapist
Hi everyone,
My name is Abbie Franklin and I am currently completing my MSc in Counselling Children and Young People at the University of Northampton. I am conducting research for my dissertation and I am exploring the experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people aged 16-24 of disclosing their sexual orientation to their therapist.
Who can participate?
- If you are aged 16-24.
- Identify as anything other than heterosexual.
- Have disclosed their sexual orientation to a therapist.
- Not currently in therapy.
What does the study involve?
- Taking part in an online interview lasting between 30-60 minutes on Microsoft Teams.
- You will be sent the interview questions beforehand.
- Any identifiable information will be pseudonymised.
This study has been approved by the ethics committee of the University of Northampton.
