Who is the Postdoc group for?Â
Our Postdoc group has been set up to support counselling, psychotherapy and integrated coaching-therapy researchers who have completed master’s or doctoral degrees. Both members and non-members of Íø±¬ÃÅ are welcome to join the group.
What does the Postdoc group offer?Â
The group provides space for members to join with other researchers in the field to develop a community of support. It encourages researchers to stay engaged in the academic world after completing their own research and offers an opportunity for pooling ideas, advice, and for discussing concerns. It also facilitates joint working options, around, for instance developing research ideas and presenting at conferences.
Led by members of our Research Team, the group meets virtually every 6 weeks on a Tuesday afternoon at 2.30pm. The format of meetings varies and includes:
- guest speakers from the field of counselling and psychotherapy
- members presenting their research and/or reflecting on their academic journey with a view to receiving feedback from and generating discussion with the group
- group structured discussions on aspects of members’ academic lives and future hopes and aspirations
- reading and discussing academic and professional articles
- writing retreats.
How do I join?
If you would like to join the Íø±¬ÃÅ Postdoc group please email research@bacp.co.uk and tell us a bit about your research or research interests.
