Working with suicidal clients as a private practitioner: challenges and opportunities

Andrew Reeves explores the challenges and opportunities of working with clients at risk of suicide in private practice. He discusses how to create a safe space where suicidal thoughts can be therapeutically explored; work effectively within contractual and ethical requirements; hold good practice at the centre of the work; and pay attention to your own self-care.

Andrew's presentation discusses important but also potentially upsetting subjects. Ensure you read the precis and learning outcomes of the resource before engaging with the content. Please consider your own self-care and what steps you can take to tend to your emotional and physical well-being. This presentation mentions suicide.

Supporting children who have experienced early childhood trauma and broken attachments

Fear and love in supervision (and beyond)

Robin Shohet explores the themes of fear and love in supervision. He discusses the differences between personal and impersonal love and how fear and love are inextricably linked. He describes the importance of belonging to something bigger than ourselves and feeling connected with others.

An opportunity-threat model of rupture and repair in personal and therapeutic relationships

Andrew Grimmer discusses the complexities of the breakdown of interpersonal relationships both in and out of the therapy room. He explores various models and approaches to repairing ruptured relationships which are relevant to all modalities.
