About CPD hub and CPD hub+
Why have you changed the name of the CPD platform?Ìý
We’ve made some changes to our CPD platform to help create a clearer and more consistent experience.ÌýÌý
Previous member feedback about the subscription based ‘CPD hub’ and the membership inclusive ‘Learning centre’ showed that they often caused confusion because of their differing names and locations.
As a solution, we’ve streamlined the platform names and given the resources a new look and feel.ÌýÌý
- The previously named 'Learning centre' has become CPD hub: still a membership inclusive benefit including access to a selection of resources and the tools to plan and log your CPDÌý
- The previously named 'CPD hub' has become CPD hub+: still £25 per year, with access to over 300 hours of quality CPD contentÌý
Will the price of the subscription element (CPD hub+) increase alongside the re-branding of the CPD platform?ÌýÌý
CPD hub+ (previously named 'CPD hub') remains £25 per year, with access to over 300 hours of quality CPD content.
The Learning centre is now called CPD hub and remains membership inclusive benefit including access to a selection of resources and the tools to plan and log your CPD.
These positive steps will have no impact on the cost of your current subscription. All your CPD content is still available, just refreshed and easier to navigate.
What are the CPD hub and CPD hub+, what’s the difference between them?
We believe your learning doesn’t finish when you qualify and great CPD can help you to develop your professional knowledge and competence. The CPD hub and CPD hub+ is your home for inclusive and premium CPD content.
- CPD hub is included with your membership and offers access to a selection of resources and the tools to plan and log your CPD. Find out more about the CPD hub.
- CPD hub+ is an optional upgrade, providing access to over 300 hours of additional premium content. After you sign up, your CPD Hub content catalogue will be expanded to include the additional resources available with the CPD Hub+ subscription. Find out more and subscribe to CPD hub+.

Top tips for using the CPD hub content catalogue
Check out our tips for using the CPD Hub catalogue. For assistance with the MyCPD planning and logging tool, see the dedicated My CPD plan and log tool help page.
Searching the CPD hub catalogue
Use keywords to search the catalogue for content that interests you. You can also use the filters to narrow down your search further to find the most relevant resources for you.
What is the My Learning section within the CPD hub?
Find content you've started but not yet completed.
How to save content to My learning
Search for something you’re interested in, click on Open or Start and the resource will launch. Once started, content is automatically flagged as In progress and will appear in your My learning area. You can choose to watch the content now, or return to it later.
How do I complete content and gain a CPD certificate?
Content you access from start to finish will be automatically flagged as complete by the system. Or, if you've accessed just part of a resource which was relevant to you, you can choose to manually complete a resource by clicking on the Mark completed option on the content page.
Both completion options will automatically record the resource in the Log completed CPD area in the My CPD tool. The automatic record will already be populated with the activity title, description, completion date and length. You can go in and manually adjust any of these fields as you wish, and complete additional reflections on the content.
View our My CPD plan and log tool help pageÌýfor more information.
Downloading a certificate
Visit the CPD certificates area by clicking on the CPD certificates button in the top bar of the Learning centre.
You'll see a list of all content you've completed, with the option to download your certificate.
Certificates are automatically completed with your name, the title of the resource you accessed and the date of completion.
What other features are available?
- Featured content - find newly launched content or relevant resources that might interest you. You can find featured content via the catalogue filters, or by clicking on the featured content option when you first enter the CPD hub.
- View again - use this area to find and return to content you've already completed
- Learning history - use this area to review the content you've accessed in a timeline. Sort by completed or in progress resources and print a copy for your records.

Please visit our My CPD help page
Can I use the videos I watch, or the recordings I listen to, for my CPD record?Ìý
Yes, all CPD hub and CPD hub+ content can count towards your annual continuing professional development (CPD).Ìý
To make things easier for you, all content completed within the CPD hub content catalogue, including all CPD hub+ resources, are automatically recorded for you in your My CPD area. ÌýÌý
You can also download a personalised CPD certificate for each presentation from the Achievements section in the CPD hub.ÌýÌý
We don’t print hours on our CPD certificates. We use an outcomes based approach to CPD, and each element of the CPD resource is reflective. You can reflect on the outcomes, what you've learned and how this will help you develop as a practitioner, and record this on your CPD log accordingly.Ìý
Content
I completed a content item but it hasn't appeared in My CPD area yet.Ìý
It may take a few minutes for the system to register the record. If it still hasn't appeared after a few minutes, refresh the Log completed CPD p²¹²µ±ð.
You may need to manually click the 'Mark Completed' button on the resource information page.
Will the video pick back up where I stopped it last?Ìý
Unfortunately, the video player can't currently skip to the last place you stopped. But you can return to the resource via your My learning area, so you don't have to search for it again.Ìý
What is a learning path?Ìý
A learning path brings together multiple linked resources, such as a video presentation, followed by video Q&A or Check Your Understanding module.
What are keywords?Ìý
Keywords are searchable terms which can be found in each presentation. When a specific keyword is searched, for example, 'Grief', all presentations including the keyword 'Grief' are generated. â¶Ä¯Ìý
Content or search pages are white when I click on them.Ìý
This means the page is taking time to load. Please give it a few minutes before refreshing your browser and it should work.Ìý
Why is there a ‘ratings’ and ‘due’ option in the ‘Sort order’ drop down?Ìý
These are global system functions within the CPD hub platform. We're not using these functions currently but may switch them on in the future. Filtering by ‘ratings’ or ‘due’ in the drop will return no content results.Ìý
How do I clear my ‘View again’?Ìý
If you’ve marked content as 'complete’ it will appear in the ‘View again’ area. If you do not wish for a piece of content to appear in this area then ‘mark as incomplete’ and it will be removed from the ‘view again’ area.Ìý
Is the system accessibility compliant?Ìý
Yes. The CPD hub is distributed by Civica who aim to ensure that the Learning centre meets level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and Section 508 conformance. The system is regularly tested to identify any issues, including the use of accessibility evaluation tools and verifying that the learner portal operates with the most commonly used assistive technologies - including screen magnifiers, screen readers and speech recognition tools.Ìý
What accessibility tools can I find in the system?Ìý
All videos are subtitled and all audio recordings have a downloadable transcript. Our video player also includes a searchable transcript. Ìý
To see the subtitles, play the video. Hover your cursor over the video player and select the square icon next to the progress bar. Select English from the options displayed. â¶Ä¯â€¯Ìý
The video player can also be expanded to full screen. Additional handouts are supplied in PDF format, and PowerPoint format where possible.Ìý
Why does the My achievements area have headings for 'Expiry date' and 'Score'?Ìý
These are global system functions within the CPD hub platform. We're not using these functions currently but may switch them on in the future.Ìý
How can I provide my thoughts and feedback on the CPD hub or my CPD hub+ subscription?Ìý
We’d welcome your feedback on the CPD hub or your CPD hub+ subscription, and any future developments you’d like to see.  to let us know your thoughts. To contact the team directly, please email cpdhub@bacp.co.ukÌý
Playing the videosÌýor audio recordings
The video or audio keeps stopping and starting (buffering)Ìý
There can be several reasons for this. Even the best broadband speed can vary dramatically over time due to:Ìý
- other people in your household overloading your router by streaming, downloading or simply browsing the web
- neighboursÌýwith the same internet provider using the internet heavily - this can be particularly noticeable at peak times
- the current status of your service provider
- the current status of your computer or device
As buffering issues are caused by your local broadband connection, or the device you are using to access the content, they are outside of our control. We can only offer tips and advice on how to combat the problems. We hope these tips will be helpful.Ìý
Can I change to a different quality? Ìý
Play the video and hover your cursor over the video player. The progress bar will appear at the bottom of the video.Ìý
Click on HD (High Definition quality). This will switch the quality of the video to SD (Standard Definition quality), which will have less of a demand on your internet connection.Ìý
What things can affect the quality of videos in the CPD hub?Ìý
Watching Netflix or a similar streaming service, downloading software or apps, online gaming or even just browsing the web could affect the stream.Ìý
Check to see if other devices in your household are using your internet connection at the same time. More devices will consume the bandwidth of the connection. (Bandwidth is the maximum amount of usage that your internet connection can handle at any one time.)Ìý
Many home internet routers cannot handle more than a couple of devices at a time and can quickly become overloaded if a household is using many devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, smart TVs or similar).Ìý
Check that your router can cope with multiple device usage, or disconnect any devices that are not required during the stream. Ìý
Is internet speed important?Ìý
Low internet speed can cause buffering.Ìý
We recommend a minimum internet speed of at least 5 Megabits per second. You can  (you need to check the download speed).Ìý
Contact your internet service provider if you're unsure about your internet speed, if you think your connection is slower than expected, or if you experience any other issues with your internet connection.Ìý
Do I need to update my browser or any plugins?Ìý
It's important to update your internet browser and web plugins (JavaScript and Adobe Flash player) regularly to ensure the best performance of your browser.Ìý
If you're unsure how to update your browser, you can find tutorials online via Google search.Ìý
Do I need to update my anti-virus protection?Ìý
Out of date anti-virus software can affect the performance of your device.Ìý
Make sure that you regularly update your software to ensure your computer or device is properly protected. Ìý
Is there anything else that can affect the stream?Ìý
Make sure that the device you're using to access the video content isn't running any updates, and close any non-essential programmes while watching the stream.Ìý
Watching videos using the internet will use your device's resources. If it's running a lot of programmes or systems in the background, this could cause buffering issues. Ìý
I keep getting a ‘media could not be loaded' error message. What should I do?Ìý
Unfortunately this issue relates to some of our older videos. We are aware of the problem and are trying to fix it as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can try updating your web browser or try watching content on a different browser.
This should fix the problem however if you are still experiencing issues, please contact us at cpdhub@bacp.co.uk.Ìý
Charging and CPD hub+ subscription
I can't see the add to cart option. What am I doing wrong?Ìý
If you can’t see the add to cart option, it’s likely that your membership is due for renewal. You’ll need to begin the membership renewal process and add the CPD hub+ subscription to your cart as follows: Ìý
- add your membership to the cart (see How to renew your membership online). Don’t continue through the basket to complete the booking just yet.Ìý
- go to the CPD hub+ and click on add to cartÌý
- go to your cart in the top panel of the web page and you can complete all your subscriptions at the same time Ìý
Why am I not being charged the full £25?Ìý
Your initial subscription to the CPD hub+ is based on the number of months left until your membership renewal. For example, if you only have three months left until your renewal, you’ll only pay for three months access on a pro-rata basis of the current CPD hub+ fee. You’ll be able to renew your CPD hub+ subscription when you renew your membership. Ìý
Can I add the CPD hub+ to my monthly Direct Debit?Ìý
You can pay in the following ways:Ìý
- I’m signing up for the first time – you can pay one lump sum by credit or debit card onlineÌý
- I’m adding the CPD hub+ to my membership renewal – if you already pay for your membership by Direct Debit, you can add the CPD hub+ subscription to your monthly payments. Alternatively, you can pay by credit or debit card for your membership and hub access in one go. If you'd like to start paying by direct debit, please contact us.Ìý
- I’ve just renewed my membership and now I’d like to re-subscribe, or purchase access for the first time - you can pay one lump sum by credit or debit card onlineÌý
How many times can I view CPD hub+ content?Ìý
While you have a subscription to the CPD hub+, you can view the content as many times as you wish. When your CPD Hub+ subscription ends, records of any completed content will remain visible in your Achievements, CPD Certificate, and My CPD sections; however, the resources themselves will no longer be accessible.
Can I view the CPD hub+ terms and conditions?Ìý
Yes, view the CPD hub+ terms and conditions.Ìý
Viewing the resourcesÌý
