A healthcare setting refers to any location where healthcare services are provided. This can include, but is not limited to, counselling that takes place within:

  • prison healthcare services
  • community health care services
  • hospices
  • sexual health clinics
  • occupational health
  • GP surgeries
  • third sector organisations
  • NHS talking therapies

We deliver our aims in partnership with Íø±¬ÃÅ by:

  • linking members’ experiences and feedback to the work of Íø±¬ÃÅ's policy team 
  • offering opportunities to influence national strategy in Íø±¬ÃÅ
  • promoting the healthcare counselling profession
  • working to remove barriers and promote inclusivity for counsellors in this division
  • influencing career pathways and progression routes into healthcare settings
  • championing current and future counselling leaders within Íø±¬ÃÅ and the wider profession
  • creating stronger and clear links between Íø±¬ÃÅ and members of this division
  • supporting access to free or low cost CPD relevant to working in a healthcare setting
  • promoting clinical excellence by sharing best practice guidelines and commissioned research
  • offering access to a quarterly journal
  • giving support to regional networks of NHS counsellors and interest groups
